Why The Koru?

The Koru symbol has been used by the Maori, an indigenous people of New Zealand for centuries. It represents the unfurling Silver Fern frond found to grow all over New Zealand. Their beliefs were deeply rooted in nature.

The Koru symbolizes new life, strength, spiritual growth and a harmonious , balanced universe. It symbolizes both change and how things stay the same.

I have chosen the Koru to represent New Life Art because I believe in the importance of these ideals. We are part of nature, of the universe, not separate from it. In our spiritual growth we can learn to nurture each other, nature and ourselves.
